Nutrition needs can vary between different stages of kidney disease, and they vary quite a bit between people.

Lori Williams, MS, RDN, LD, a licensed dietitian at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, explains what the kidneys need most from nutrition in stages one through four of chronic kidney disease.
